In the Ditch!
Cadillac was introducing a new commercial chassis for 1949, so Superior had to begin designing and building their prototypes early in the 1948 year. Superior was using this 1948 (the 1949s had a wrap around front signal light bezel) Cadillac car as a base chassis, then added their new 1949 doors and roof structure.
I'm sure there is a logical reason why this prototype was in the ditch at the factory - maybe it had no brakes when they pushed it out the back door?
