At one time Ford and GM chassis were only available with a 100 amp alternator from the factory. As this was not large enough to power the air conditioners plus all the interior and exterior lighting, the ambulance manufacturer would need to install a larger or a second alternator. There were many electrical problems. Frazer's solution to the problem was installing a 12 volt generator.
