Corporate Name Change
In 1960 The Comet Coach Company sold the trade name rights to the name COMET, to the Ford Motor Company. Ford then named their new compact sedan model COMET. And the hearse and ambulance manufacturing company previously known as The Comet Coach Company was renamed Cotner-Bevington Corporation in honour of the founders Waldo Cotner and Robert Bevington.
I wonder how much Ford had to pay for the rights to the name COMET?
