Cot Skis
Fenelon Falls Ambulance was frequently summoned to a commune in the Burnt River backwoods. Travel during winter over foot trails caused a great deal of delay and was difficult for ambulance crews so skis were developed to fit their Ferno model 30 cot. The skis were a pair of water skis retrofitted with straps to attach to the cot. These skis allowed for easier transport of equipment and patients through the woods.
The cot skis are similar to the ones from Muskoka, Ontario (image 8364).
