Metro Olds
Written by Terry Lange: There was a story circulating in the ambulance community in Winnipeg that this Pulsator 'Q' siren when cranked up, was responsible for either shattering or cracking a window in a large department store in downtown Winnipeg. As the story goes, the city asked them to remove the flutter valve from the siren in order to prevent any additional mishaps. I'm sure there is no validity to this tale, and it probably got embellished each time it was told. The few times I recall hearing this siren in operation, it sounded much like a regular 'Q' although a bit muffled.
