Terry Lange wrote: "This unit was inherited by the city in their takeover of ambulance services in mid 1975. While definately not the cream of the crop, either to drive or to attend in, it had some popularity with the City of Winnipeg Ambulance staff since it was the only vehicle sporting a Federal Q2B. None of the new hires, and even most of the experienced staff had never 'run under a Q' as Steve Loftin likes to put it. One of the City shift supervisors at the time felt all that noise was unnecessary, and attempted to disconnect it. All he ended up doing was disconnecting the brake on the siren! This ambulance remained in service until 1976."

(Terry Lange categorized this unit as a Strathroy conversion, however I am not convinced that it is.)
