No Hoist
Ambucraft did not have a vehicle hoist in their shop so doing a remount posed an extra challenge. One method was using jacks to lift the body off the old chassis, drive the old chassis out from underneath, and then back the new chassis under the body but this procedure created safety issues as the jacks were not always stable. Another method was to hire a crane, lift the body off the old chassis and lower it onto the new chassis, as shown in this photo.
