Stampede Staff
Fred & Mary Underhill, Rolan Russell in November 1958. Fred Underhill wrote "Don Shelley formed Stampede Ambulance in 1958. I was then a nursing orderly at the Col. Belcher Military Hospital. I went to work for Don in 1959. Gerry Price was the manager - he had a B.C. Industrial first aid certificate and encouraged us to do likewise. In order to do so, you took the course by correspondence and then went to B.C. for a weekend to write the exam. Stampede was somewhat of a renegade group - most of us lived at the Stampede garage and that was our life. If we wanted to be paid, we went out and tried to collect some bills."
