From a report in the Toronto World February 25, 1911:
"The Miles Funeral Home had the reputation of having one of the first motor hearses in Canada and in February 1911, Arthur received the first motorized ambulance in Canada. This ambulance was manufactured by the T. Eaton Co. and it was built on a Chalmers automobile chassis. This vehicle was equipped with a pneumatic sanitary mattress and the latest equipment. The first trip this vehicle made was March 17, 1911."

As it turns out, this was not the first motorized ambulance in Canada. Vancouver Police already had a motorized ambulance in October 6, 1909 and there may have been others.
